Summary:The concept of learning styles in education is highly questionable when used to categorize students in particular ways and attempt to match them to corresponding forms of instruction. This paper argues that the various learning modalities called Learning Styles are only cognitive tools that all learners have access to and must use to process experiences and understand the world around. We further argue for a more basic theoretical model of learning prompted by teachers whose role is to understand the fundamental use of question asking and critical thinking skills in learning, and thus, engage the learners’ curiosity into essential cognitive behaviors with which all forms of learning become possible and learners become well rounded.
