This article analyzes the stakes surrounding the establishment of a protected area in the Minkébé forest in northeast Gabon. It deals with the various strategies of appropriation implemented by the Gabonese State to control this part of the territory at this part of border that separating Gabon from Cameroon to the North and Congo to the East. Long kept out of the socio-economic dynamic, Minkébé is now the target of informal activities and illegal trans-state organizations.
