Summary:This paper presents an empirical study on the progressive introduction of interactive whiteboard (IWB) in classrooms of 20 schools in Spain. The participant teachers experimented with the use of Promethean IWB in their classrooms during academic years 2008 to 2010. The process of experimentation was backed up with 2 conferences and 2 work-shops for training and feed-back, and complemented with online information. We present some of the most common IWB uses and especially the evaluation re-sults of IWB learning outcomes (in the classroom), with regard to IWB didactic uses, advantages, disadvantages, students’ academic performance and competencies aimed at.
