The authors examined 402 women in birth, 394 newborns of those mothers, 8 miscarried fetuses, 402 amniotic fluid tests and 402 placenta tissue samples of those women by PCR method to detect DNA Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Ureaplasma sp., Cytomegalovirus and Herpes simplex type 1 and 2.
