Telah dilakukan sintesis keramik Cordierite menggunakan silika sekam padi.dengan metode sol-gel. Cordierite yang dihasilkan berbentuk serbuk dan kemudian dicetak dalam bentuk pellet. Pellet kemudian dsintering selama 6 jam pada suhu 1000ºC, 1200ºC dan 1400ºC. Untuk mengetahui struktur bahan maka dilakukan karakterisasi menggunakan XRD dan DTA.
