Summary:This article, considering the perspective of identity as something multiple, hybrid and constantly changing, aims to discuss how the construction of the subject occurs in oral narratives. Subject to this historically and culturally situated partner, who constructs the world and is constructed by him within the discourse from his dialogical interaction with his interlocutor. The object that is presented as the main focus is the construction of indigenous identities, using oral narratives from the following groups: Xukuru de Ororubá (Municipality of Pesqueira - Pernambuco), Shawãndawa or Arara (Municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul - Acre and Makuxi Municipality of Normandia - Roraima), among others.
