Description
Summary:
Size, location and estimation of composition of urinary stone dictate treatment decisions. Non-contrast low dose CT has replaced iv-urography for evaluation of size and position of stone. Recently, CT has also improved its ability to, in certain cases, estimate composition of urinary stone. Dual source CT with dual energy algorithms can separate urate from non-urate stones with high precision, which can be crucial in treatment planning.
