Artistic principles of epic narrative, peculiar to Sholokhov’s prose, are not in demand by modern literature; Sholokhov’s narratives are adapted - the emphasis is on family/household and love themes. However, at the same time Sholokhov’s allusions are instrumental in the creation of the unique historical background, giving credence to the literary descriptions of the 1920s-1930s, and the interest in Sholokhov’s characters and stories correlates with the general cultural interest in the rethinking of the Soviet past.http://journals.rudn.ru/literary-criticism/article/view/18781М.А.
