These obstacles must have a reflection about the meanings and perceptions that exist in Portugal, in Sociology, that legitimize this dualism, and that also give us clues to overcome, given that at an institutional level there will always be competition and symbolic power struggles that will force the existence of dualities between them. To better understand the advantages that both disciplines can offer each other, we also present examples of work already carried out research group ASPTI (social analysis of occupations in technical-intellectual knowledge) about how we have dealt with the differences that we can approach, given that to achieve this you must have a subject of research and reflection that enhances the opportunities for interdisciplinary dialogues.https://sites.google.com/site/sociologiaytecnociencia/home/no-2-vol-1-2012/Caria2012.pdf?attredirects=0Professional knowledgedualism socio-cognitivesymbolic powersocial theorysocial work
