Investigation Histopathologically of two Different Bone Grafts

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of demineralized bone matrix in gel form and cancellous bone chips dehydrated with solvents, on new bone formation. This study was conducted on 20 female rats of 3 months. Twenty rats included into the study were divided into 2 groups, each compri...

Twenty rats included into the study were divided into 2 groups, each comprising 10 rats. Bone cavities were opened up on femurs of the rats, and demineralized bone matrix in gel form was applied to the rats in group I and cancellous bone chips dehydrated with solvents to those rats in group II. At the periods of 4 and 8 weeks, femurs were removed and investigated histopathologically. In our study, it was observed that demineralized bone matrix, whether in short or long terms, was more effective in inducing new bone formation with respect to cancellous bone chips dehydrated with solvents. http://4181.indexcopernicus.com/fulltxt.php?ICID=888069Demineralized bone matrixallograft dehydrated with solventsbone regenerationbone resorptionbone defects
