Takalić0Faculty of Agriculture University of J. J. Strossmayer, Kralja Petra Svacica 1d, Osijek, CroatiaThis paper presents an economic analysis of rape on the business case of the family farm "BlažiÄević" from Gradina in Virovitica- Podravina county. Oilseed rape was sown on the area of 20 hectares. Total of 128 work hours of the drive machines and human labour were spent in the production. The production costs amounted to € 19,262.07 or € 963.10 ha-1. The largest item in the rape production costs accounted for fertilizer costs amounting € 358.53 ha-1, being the share of even 37.23% of the total costs. The costs of operating farm machinery amounted to € 190.24 ha-1 accounting for almost a fifth of the total costs (19.46%). The third set of costs represented in the costs structure were the ones of protection agents amounting € 109.20 ha-1 (11.34%). All other costs together amounted to less than one third of the total costs. Total revenue of € 1,260.00 ha-1 was obtained by the average rape yield from 3.3 t ha-1, the sales price of € 333, 33 t-1 and the state subsidy of 160, 00 € ha-1. Rape production economy coefficient was E=1.31, thus, it can be concluded that the rape production was economically justified, since the economy coefficient was more than one. Rape production is profitable, since the return rate R=30.83% is higher than the savings interest rate during the production binding funds. The calculated labour productivity in the rape production was PR=0.516 t h-1 meaning that 0.516 ton of the rape was produced for each hour of human labour spent in the current production.http://journals.usamvcluj.ro/index.php/agricultura/article/view/10935
