In this article, I analyze a selection of images posted on Facebook by various political leaders between April 15th and May 5th in order to examine how images condense topics associated with political traditions and with the emotional atmosphere that framed the discussion. I consider that these images presuppose a reader who is familiar with the referred ideological traditions, capable of filling the blanks and involved a priori with the values proposed. Thus, the images reinforce a preexisting argumentative tissue. The corpus analysis is organized in two series: those images that privilege polemic views and those in which the celebratory slope prevails. In the latter case, I em-phasize those that refer to what I have called the “patriotic moment” and those that link the topic of conjuncture with other issues that coexisted on the public agenda at that time.https://raled.comunidadaled.org/index.php/raled/article/view/251Facebook.
