First, a historiographic analysis is made of the intrinsic relationship between the electoral process, the degree of mobilization of the campaigns, the urban growth of Recife, and the consolidation of political parties throughout the 1840s. the sudden change in Lopes Gama's journalism when he begins to form part of the Praieiro Party.
