Description
Summary:This article discusses possible uses of the Experimentation Library for Mathematic (similar to a Mathematics Laboratory) in the process of teaching and learning Mathematics. It is argued that in the process of knowledge development, as long as mathematical experiments are properly done, can help in the creation of meanings of mathematical objects. Taking this into consideration, the article focuses in one of the experiments and its activities trying to indicate the possibilities of relating it to alternative approaches for the teaching of mathematics, such as Resolution of Problems and Mathematical Modeling. The article defends Experimentation Library as a possibility for the development of alternative forms in the teaching of Mathematics.
