Summary: | This text considers the role played by empathy in contemporary dance by analysing the choreographic piece Entre chien et loup (2008) created by Rodolphe Foulliot for the Compagnie du Jeune Ballet Corse. It shows how contemporary dance puts dancers animated by the same intentionality within a production, in a state of both sensory-motor interactions and expression of their ipseity. Their dancing relationship is an empathic process in which a reciprocal kinesthetic and sensory listening is exercised. This process isbased on aknow-how aimed at grasping the partners’ subjectivity. |
