Description
Summary:The Koinon of Athena Ilias and the Koinon of the Ionians provide two instances of supra-civic religious associations gathering several Greek cities of western Asia Minor, according to different criteria. In the first case we propose to focus on,  ethnical dimension seems totally missing, whereas in the second one, it is clearly claimed. The compared study of these two koina allows to confront both of their differences and common points, regarding their nature, origin and composition. This will lead us to consider how the Greeks from Asia Minor have been able to define and stage their collective identity, in a way that do not necessarily match with the ethnicity concept.
