Summary:Abstract: The research problem is how the teaching media is utilized in the learning of composing the observation text at the XI grade of SMK. The aim of this research is to describe the teaching product utilized in the learning of composing the expository text at the XI grade of SMK. This research uses qualitative descriptive as the methodology of the research, in collecting the data is using of reduction data, showing data, and verification. The result of the study indicate that textbooks prepare activity reports based on observation worthy of use in learning. The feasibility was stated by media experts 77%, material experts 81,5%, and practitioners 80%. Abstrak: Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah pengembangan buku pembelajaran menyusun laporan berdasarkan observasi siswa kelas XI SMK? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan buku pembelajaran menyusun laporan berdasarkan observasi siswa kelas XI SMK. Penelitian ini menggunakan metod R & D, pengambilan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan perekaman. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar menyusun laporan kegiatan berdasarkan observasi layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kelayakan tersebut dinyatakan oleh ahli media 77%, ahli materi 81,5%, dan praktisi 80%.
