The number of different aromatic aldehydes was condensed with malononitrile and α-Naphthol or β-Naphthol in aqueous hydrotropic medium under microwave irradiation gives different derivatives of 2-amino-4H-chromenes obtained in good to excellent yield. This exhibits environmentally benign methodology with simple experimental and work up procedure.
