Description
Summary:Ecological and faunistic review of Chrysomelidae of Asov sea sand-coquinal terrace (Ukraine) is presented for the first time. The investigated territory is a complex of intrazonal biotopes. Chrysomelid beetle’s species composition of the researched region is relatively poor. 74 species which belong to 30 genera and 8 subfamilies are recorded. The structure of chrysomelid beetle’s fauna is typical for steppe zone of Ukraine. The representatives of subfamilies Alticinae (35 species, 9 genera), Cryptocephalinae (15 species, 3 genera) and Chrysimelinae (8 species, 6 genera) are dominating. There are some peculiarities in ecological structure of chrysomelid beetle’s fauna on the territory of sand-coquinal terrace. The major part of recorded chrysomelid beetle’s species must be attributed to euribiotical mesophiles and mesoxerophiles. Imago’s activity period lasts from May to September – it is shorter than in northern regions of the steppe zone. The peak of species diversity is marked from the end of May to the middle of June.
