Professor da Universidade Nove de Julho, Brasil. This article explored the academic scientific Journal of Contemporary Administration (JCA) in the period 1997-2011. The study was based on a bibliometric study and Social Network Analysis, using descriptive statistics, in 564 articles identified. The main results were: predominance of articles in partnership; Machado-da-Silva, Carrieri, Vasconcelos and Rezende stood out for their respective yields and degree centralities of this study; the USP, FGV (SP), UFRGS, UnB, UFPR, UFMG and UFRJ, also stood out for being HEIs more publications and consequently the most central in 15 years of research on the JCA. There was a low density in the co-authorship networks and network of HEIs, although this last obtained a density slightly better. There was a balance between research methods worked out by the authors. Finally, it was found that the words: companies, organizational and management were the most viewed in both titles as well as the keywords of the articles analyzed. We conclude this study a profile of the macro 564 journal publications JCA, which helps to better understand the Administration area of Brazil, since the said journal is one of the most important to the field.http://periodicos.ufpb.br/ojs/index.php/pgc/article/view/22918/14113Journal of Contemporary Administration.
