Summary: | This article is based on the analysis of the princely graves from Late Bronze Age to La Tene B1 in the north-alpine complex. After an initial phase of reflection on the methodology to rank a corpus covering a millennium, a second step is to ask the definition of sex and gender. The gender appears as an additional variable that can be confronted with sex. This approach shows the effectiveness of this concept which allows social interpretations of male/female relationships in north-alpine societies and renews issues. |
