The type species, E. polita (Walsingham), is redescribed and its lectotype and two paralectotypes are designated. The variations of forewing pattern in E. polita, are compared to other congeners and diagnosed to minimize possible confusion. Illustrations and keys of the adults and the genitalia of each sex, where available, are provided for all seven species of the genus.
