Summary: | The article explores the formation of academic field of labor law in one of the three Argentine universities where the crystallization of specific areas related to its research and technical implementation took place: Universidad Nacional del Litoral. First, the paper reviews the dynamics that influence the beginnings and formation of this legal knowledge. Second, it focuses on the trajectory of one of the pioneers in labour law in Argentina, Mariano Tissembaum, and the Labour Law Institute he founded in 1938. Through its publications, networks and the debates in which is inserted, during the decades of 1930 and 1940, the paper presents some preliminary progress that account not only the dynamics of formation of an academic field but also of a social consensus and the conditions of possibility that converted it in a technical knowledge summoned from the State.
