Summary: | The goal of this article is to elaborate a brief “state of the question” of the contemporary cartographic art works in order to open the fi eld to students of Fine Arts and other related studies. We focus mostly on contemporary cartographic art proyects. The most of art works addressed in this article are new ways to visualize certain phenomena, or elements, like highly interesting design models of navigation and interaction with data. This research has been accomplished in the Department of Art and Design, Universidade da Madeira (Portugal), during September 2009. |
