Involvement of students in self-control is carried out in order to achieve the effectiveness of professional training and a successful projection into practical activities. The problem of forming the capacity for students’ self-control is relevant due to the fact that self-control is conscious analysis and evaluation of their own professional activity, allowing for timely correction, adjusting its results. The self-control of a person, his/her regulatory potential and the mechanisms for managing himself/herself are the problems of activity, will, self-regulation, freedom of choice of the individual, and his/her autonomy (V. Afanasiev, B. Vulfov, L. Grymak, Y. Lysiuk, G. Nikiforov, L. Spirin, Bai Shaozhong, etc.). The aim of the article is to consider the creative and projective way of forming the ability of future musical art teachers to self-control. The article presents the creative and projective aspect of forming the ability to self-control future teachers of musical art. The role of self-control in the educational process is determined. The basic methods of forming art faculties students’ self-control are outlined. The creative and projective direction of the future musical art teachers’ training is determined from the point of view of the system and holistic approach as the creative development of an individual during independent learning activity, which is carried out on the basis of motivated, conscious, individual, reflexive learning, providing self-knowledge, self-determination, self-control of the future teacher.
