Description
Summary:Image segmentation is a process often used in several different areas including Cartography. Feature extraction is a very troublesome task, and successful results require more complex techniques and good quality data. The aim of this work is to study Digital Image Processing techniques, with emphasis in Mathematical Morphology, to use Remote Sensing imagery, making image segmentation, using the operator morfolgical gradient multi-scales. In the segmentation process were used pre-processing operators of Mathematical Morphology toolbox, and the implementation of the gradient multi-scales was used to create of the marker image. Orbital image of the Landsat satellite, sensor TM was used. Software MATLAB (version 5.4) was used in the implementation of the routines. With the accomplishment of the tests the performance of the implemented operators was verified and carried through the analysis of the results. The extration of linear feições can contribute in cartographic applications, as the feature identification or products cartographic updating.
