Blood group discrepancy was encountered while performing routine serological investigations on the patient's blood sample. Random cross-match with multiple ABO-identical and ABO-compatible PRBC units was found to be incompatible. Further immunohematological workup was performed which led to the discovery of the patient having rare p phenotype. |
