Description
Summary:In 2005 German hospitals for the first time published legally specified quality reports. A group of practitioners from the German health service analysed assessments of this public information tool and summarized demands on a further development of the report in a concept. The authors present suggestions for the report design to improve information for patients on the individually relevant hospital achievements and outcome quality. Models of electronical data delivery are also discussed. This could permit to build up databases in order to reply inquiries from patients seeking help for a concrete problem. Thus the improved quality report could become an important decision support for patients.
