Considéré comme l’un des auteurs les plus significatifs et l’un des meilleurs en langue espagnole, il obtient en 1982 le Prix Nobel de littérature. L’auteur de Cent ans de solitude a influencé plusieurs écrivains à l’instar du Congolais Sony Labou Tansi dont les écrits s’inspirent directement, pourrait-on dire, des romans de ce célèbre écrivain colombien de tous les temps. De ce fait, on peut subodorer que Gabriel García Márquez se trouve aux croisements des résistances idéologiques et esthétiques qui font de ce dernier un modèle scripturaire. Cet article vise à montrer que ses œuvres lui ont valu une reconnaissance mondiale. Nous arrivons à la conclusion que Gabriel García Márquez est la tête de proue des Lettres latino-américaines.
