The analysis of literature on the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and cognitive impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has been carried out. The role of invasive, minimally invasive and non-invasive methods for assessing the degree of liver fibrosis is shown. The results of own researches, namely determining the features of melatonin excretion in urine and its correlation with the degree of liver fibrosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the presence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, are given. The results of studying the level of adiponectin in these patients and the role of nutrient therapy to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disorders are presented.http://iej.zaslavsky.com.ua/article/view/148777type 2 diabetes mellitusnon-alcoholic fatty liver diseasecytokinesadiponectinleptinresistinfibrosis mar-kersmelatoninreview
