Summary: | This paper aims to analyze scientific publications in the Industrial Engineering ENEGEP, SIMPEP and CONBREPRO
from 2011 to 2015 to identify the trends of the authors when choosing the research field. For such, a
qualitative and quantitative research as well as exploratory and descriptive with regard to the objectives was
performed. Among the results, it is emphasized that, on the one hand, the Education in Industrial Engineering,
in all events and in all periods considered for this study, was the field with the lowest number of published
papers. On the other hand, the area of Production Management was the one with the highest number of publications
in the searched events. However, despite the prominence of the Production Management field, the other
areas presented balanced publications percentages, thus demonstrating the general trend of the production engineering
to be able to train professionals to work in different segments with a variety of skills
