Description
Summary:The history of valve positioning systems on process control loops is reviewed. The advent of single loop micro-processor based controllers makes possible an improved functional layout for such systems, which has previously found application on direct digital control systems. If this new layout should find support within the industry, then some form of national co-ordination of the development of interface standards would be desirable.
