In July 2020, Tracés’s Editorial Board met seven members of the collective “Foreigners and the international division of scientific work” part of the Coordination of the movement “Facs et Labos en Lutte” (Faculties and Laboratories in Struggle) for an interview. This encounter became a free-flowing conversation during which some of the following topics were discussed at length: how the collective was formed; how various forms of insecurity were imposed on foreigners in French HER and how difficult it was for an autonomous voice representing foreigners to be heard within the context of protests against the law on multi-year research programming (LPPR). We reproduce here this open discussion or “an interview that doesn’t look like one”.
