The title solvated salt, [NiCl(C10H8N2)2(H2O)]Cl·CHCl3·0.5H2O, contains a mononuclear NiII complex cation with 2,2′-bipyridine, chloride and aqua ligands forming a slightly distorted ClN4O octahedral coordination set.
