Once past the neogothic and neo-Romanic styles, the modernity bursts in the interwar period with a church very « art deco » in La Rochelle. Then they are the repairs of ruins caused by the war, illustrated especially by Notre-Dame de Royan. In the 1950s and 1960s, numerous places of worship, often modest, are born. The movement stops abruptly in 1971.
