Summary: | The article deals with the presence of physical education in the Revista do Ensino de Minas Gerais (Magazine of Teaching of Minas Gerais), in the period 1925-1935. Its publication and circulation, from 1925 on, played a central role in the shaping of the schooling in Minas Gerais. This way, it became a support to and a condition for the organization of physical education, becoming a strategy not only for its diffusion, but also for the formation of future teachers. The magazine contributed to the shift that took place in the period, putting into motion the new representations of its aims, and also prescribing practices as part of the program, tuning it in to the new demands of modern life.
