Description
Summary:The intervention of media practitioners occupy an important place in the evolution of French academic research on television audiences. Since the beginning of the televisual revolution, their representatives have developed the study of the behaviour of users and the effects of images via the evolution of audience measurements and the use of this data in studies on spectatorial practices. The contribution of the practitioners has been complementary to that of academics : is this a sign of substitution or the sum of knowledge and know-how ? In order to answer, we propose a model of the ways in which those in the professional field — as with university researchers — produce, broadcast and organize the knowledge about television viewers in the academic field.
