NEW DATA REGARDING THE DEGREES OF SEVERITY OF ANEMIA IN MULTIPLE MYELOMA

This paper presents the results of a comparative analysis on the severity of anemia, in the light of the depletion of hemoglobin (Hb) levels, hematocrit (Ht) and of number of erythrocytes (E) from multiple myeloma patients’ blood, depending on gender and age. The analysis was done on four groups of...

The analysis was done on four groups of patients, men and women, aged under 60 and even 60. The hematologic failure highlighted in these patients was marked by a decrease in all variants up to 58,7-90,6% of the  normal physiological mean values of Hb levels, up to 57,4-80% of  Ht levels and up to 59,2-88,4% of red cells numbers. Moreover, it has been noticed that both in the case of Hb and Ht and E, the weighting factor of patients with normal individual values is null  (100% subnormal values) in men aged under 60. It increases up to 9.1% in patients aged over 60. When it comes to women, the weighting factor of normal individual values reaches 18,2 - 45,5 % of total number of studied cases.http://www.gbm.bio.uaic.ro/index.php/gbm/article/view/983
