Description
Summary:This paper analyzes the configuration of water inequalities in a region where the communities are linked in administrative, political and water terms by the city of Oaxaca de Juárez. Thus, from an urban-centric logic, the city becomes the great organizer of hydrological resources, creating a hydropolitan region where the urban peripheries can act as suppliers of water for domestic consumption and at the same time receiving wastewater. This situation, in addition to producing water inequality in the regions of the Atoyac River, generates socio-environmental conflicts throughout the region.
