Metabolic syndrome is known as a complex disorder that combines abdominal obesity, glucose intolerance/insulin resistance (diabetes mellitus), dyslipidemia and arterial hypertension. Existing literature shows that psoriasis is associated with an increased prevalence of metabolic syndrome.
