We have been teaching and studying, for many years, France’s tourism policy and its developments. And we have always been taken aback by this national conviction of being the first destination in the world. We can read, like everyone else, the international tourist arrivals figures attesting this first place in the world, but actually, the situation is not so simple. For many years or even decades, tourism in France has been poorly recognized and under-appreciated. Its observation is not efficient enough and the scales of its analysis greatly differ depending on people’s interests. Our approach proposes to question, first, the political decisions and announcements, developed following the crisis in terms of tourism. Secondly, we propose to analyze the concepts of networking heritage sites as a possible orientation of the post-COVID period.http://journals.openedition.org/teoros/6608crisisstatistical observationflowstourist places
