Summary: | <p>Water quality models that allow us to study and manage the environmental problems caused by wastewater discharges are mathematical models formulated by means of second order partial differential equations. The complexity that involves the construction and study of these models brings about the need to introduce new teaching methodologies. In this contribution, we present several applications of virtual laboratories developed with Mathematica and we show the advantages of using learning objects as a teaching tool in the classroom, particularly if applied to the teaching of surface water quality models.</p> |
