We are exposed to accidents when using vehicles. The human factor contributes greatly to their occurrence. A problem analysis was carried out with proposed changes. The conclusions indicate the need for conducting training and clarification of the provisions in the applicable road traffic law. The introduction of new technical devices for determining the distance, in extreme situations, does not eliminate the danger of colliding with the preceding vehicle. In this respect, the regulations are imprecise, and the lack of knowledge of drivers is huge.
