Description
Summary:This study aimed at analyzing two open announcements from the National Textbook Program (PNLD), 2011 and 2014, which describe the criteria for the analysis of didactic textbooks produced for students from the sixth to the ninth years of Basic Education. The textbooks referred to in the documents are composed by the student’s book (SB) and its teacher’s guide (hereafter TG). However, this article focuses on the criteria specifically designated for the TG in general and for the foreign language TG in order to identify in the documents mentioned the requirements established for its production. The analysis was based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of the Sociodiscursive Interactionism (BRONCKART, 1999). It was possible to verify that the documents emphasize the value of the analysis held by the analyst team, which aims encouraging the production of materials increasingly tailored to the needs of Brazilian public education. This is to ensure that the textbooks present correct, appropriate and updated information and thus, contribute to the teacher's work, providing opportunities to develop skills involved in the teaching and learning process.
