Description
Summary:One of the main causes of accidents on secondary unpaved roads is the inadequate visibility originatedby the dust particles suspended in the air because of the vehicles. This brings along a significantenvironmental damage to people, animals and plants of the area, a permanent deterioration because ofthe loss of material and therefore a need for more conservation. In order to diminish this problem, thereare different types of products in the market, with various origins and forms of application. Theseproducts have shown diverse results in different investigations, given that they have a reduced fieldapplication regarding soil typologies, and which are not commonly the same in the different studies.Hence, empirically based decision making about palliative products and their doze is not advisable.Laboratory tests, on the other hand, should be made to determine the effect of the combination soil/product/doze. The situation described has been studied from the LEMaC, Road Investigation Centerfrom the National Technological University of Argentina, and it has been proposed an adapted testmethodology. The present work is based on the results of that experience.
