These students come from a socially and culturally deprived environment. The CORAL program purpose is to develop logical thinking skills through a cooperative-style methodology. CORAL theoretical foundations are, on one side, the so-called socio-cognitive paradigm, and, on the other side, a teaching model that puts learning first and pushes students to learn to learn through appropiate mediation. CORAL results clearly show that there is a statistically significant IQ difference between those results obtained by CORAL-trained students and the not-so-good results obtained by non-trained students. There is also a significant improvement regarding academic self-esteem. Some evidence exists of transfer to 'life' and to 'curriculum'.https://revistas.uam.es/tendenciaspedagogicas/article/view/1815atención a la diversidadeducación secudnaria obligatoriaevaluación
