The novel handles the personal trauma of its characters in their own family context. It is made up of three short stories whose main characters are children. Each story represents an instance of the traumatic event and its implications as possible ways of facing it. This analysis focuses on the main narrative elements used by the writer to express the psychological dimension of characters.
