| Summary: | The paper focuses on the identification of cultural meanings of somatic code items in English and Russian linguistic pictures of the world. The body herein is regarded as a model for processes of cognition and linguistic structuring of the world. The purpose of the paper is to determine correlation between universal knowledge of the body and culturally significant associations caused by conceptual mappings from mental domain “body” to mental domains of the outside world. The study has been conducted according to the conceptual research procedure elaborated in Kemerovo scientific school under the supervision of Prof. M. V. Pimenova. |
