Summary: | Introduction: People who have a high level of learning love, tend to be as an innovator. As a matter of fact, they intend to lie within the first ones who are consistent with their new status. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between love of learning and global innovation within medical students. Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was carried out on students of Jahrom University of Medical Sciences during 2014-2015. The study sample consisted of 200 students who were selected via random sampling method using Cochran’s formula. McFarlane’s love of learning and Hurt’s global innovation questionnaires were utilized to glean the study data. Moreover, the study data were analysed via SPSS software (version 16), applying standard t-test, Pearson correlation-coefficients and linear regression. Results: The study results indicated that the students’ love of learning was reported at a higher level than the desirable level, though their global innovation level was demonstrated to be lower than the minimum level. A positive significant relationship was observed between love of learning and global innovation. In other words, love of learning was considered as a positive and significant predictor of students' global innovation. Conclusion: The study findings revealed that love of learning is influential in creating students’ global innovation. Furthermore, it can provide the ground for students’ growth and talent in order to lead students towards self-actualization. |
