«Narrative’s stories» as an inquiry of identity in the contemporary art (on the example of Andriy’s Hir Art)

The author studies the presence of special features of the Ukrainian national identity in the art of Ukrainian artist Andriy Khir in this article. Author describes compositions and artistic techniques of the artist, which were based on the artist’s personal projects («Khir — the Beast from the Mountains», «Proverbs», « Superstitions»). In the author’s opinion, they appears as unique narrative stories. They›ve visualized with methods of the figurative expressiveness. Extensive attention is given to the understanding of abstract definitions — archetypes, which form the basis for the national identity in contemporary art. The author of the article presents an analysis of expressive methods and conceptual ideas pledged in the artist art. These methods are expressions of the contemporary artist’s own national identity. A separate place in the article dedicated to the examination of available sources of the artist›s creations, as well as culturological characteristic of the social resonance coused by his art-projects.
